Pieces of Faith
So many of us
When personal tragedy strikes
Are left to pick up the pieces
Of our faith
This is something I have done
Something I'm still struggling to do
But with the hardship
Comes revelation
Because when all of me
My faith,
Had fallen to the ground
And I began to clean up the mess
I found new pieces
Of faith and of God
That I had never seen before
So, for a time, I have
Set my first piece of faith
To the side
In order to explore the new
Because I had already given
All of myself to the first
And it had given so much back
But I still felt incomplete
Now, as I put all my pieces
Of faith and God together
Each one, new and old
Makes me whole
And I admire those strong enough
To rely wholly on one part
And hope that they can understand
My search for the piece of this puzzle
That fits with me
