we hang onto a delicate thread
afraid to open up
to look overhead
afraid of what we might see
fears tearing holes in security
of mind and heart
your eyes they see
the darkness of denial
though the mind’s eye knows
all are equal
we can’t help but fear the truth;
we are one planet, one people
