Falling in My Mind
I want to dance among the stars,
Play hopscotch on the moon.
I want to twirl in distant space,
Then come crashing to my room.
I want my mind to fog my eyes;
I want to disappear.
I want to sink in seas of thought.
I want anywhere but here.
I want my imagination
To swell me up inside,
Send me twisting through my dreams,
And spit me out alive.
I want to lay upon the roof,
Catch the sunrise in my hand,
And release it on the pages
Of a barren no-man’s land.
I want my heart to flutter.
I want my mind to reel.
I want my head to spin--
I want, again, to feel.
