Fallen
We lay under a blanket
Of bright, lonely stars
Lost between them and us
I am falling
Falling like the stars above
Falling into your arms
Your eyes twinkle
As they gaze into my own
I search beyond them
Searching for reasons
What have we become?
Your fingertips strike the cold tips of mine
I’m still falling
You move in closer, my body tenses
My heart beats faster and the stars fall harder
The wind breaks our overbearing silence
Eyes meet, hands interlock, lips touch
And just like that
The wind has stopped
The stars are still
Yes, you have me
I have fallen
