Numb
Tears drip down my face
Roll past my aching heart
And fall to the floor
I'm surprised I still have tears left
After all these months of sorrow
How I thought I was over you
You were dead in my heart
Vacant from my mind
Until the night
That fateful night
You chose to pick up your phone
Dared to dial my number
I almost didn't pick up
Your voice struck me like a broken chord
The rush in my heart
Butterflies in my stomach
Immediately came over me once again
I hate you for it
My weaknesses you know all too well
I wish you could see
Could feel
Could know
All the tears I've cried over you
All the sleepless nights I've spent
Rattling my brain for ways to make you love me
I wish you could understand the fact
That I would have done anything for you
Anything to make me good enough in your eyes
And now you think
You can just call and everything will be okay
But no
I'm done being your last resort
It's your turn to hurt
Your turn to feel the pain
For I cannot anymore
I am already numb
