It would upset me too.

Just like her.

That the wicked stepmother had a reason to hate Cinderella?
Cinderella reminded her of the love she lost.
She saw Cinderella’s father
Every time she looked at her.
It caused her pain.

Do you ever think
That the British had a reason to fight for this country?
That they claimed it first,
They thought it theirs
When Patriots tried to take it,
They didn’t like that.

Do you ever think
That every murderer has a reason to murder?
To seek revenge for something,
Make things right for someone else,
The victim wasn’t a good person,
And maybe they deserved to die.

Do you ever think
That all bad guys have reasons for being bad?
We wash it out,
Make things right or wrong.
Because we don’t want to see
Things aren’t what they appear.
