The Friend
Brown hair with eyes to match
Freckled cheeks upon a smiling face
Average body, fragile heart
Which broken pieces could replace
Eyes so deep, looking for answers
With a wandering mind and peaceful demeanor
Years of thought give to years of knowledge
Giving whimsical advice when I need her
Fun-loving, a bit crazy
Yet so down to earth
Crushed so deep inside but
Constantly hiding the hurt
I'll never notice her the way I am meant to
I'll never comfort her the way that she needs
She will be friend and only friend and
I'll break her heart every day for the true her I cannot see
