A Little Thing Called A Smile

Lost in my own little world
No one to look for
No one to go to
All alone

Lost in my own little world
Thoughts flying around me
Terrozing me, haunting me
All alone

Lost in my own little world
Memories drifting by
Bring tears to my eyes
All alone

Lost in my own little world
Afraid of what might happen next
Giving no chance to let go
All alone

Lost in my own little world
Hiding from my fears
Behind what can't protect me
All alone

Lost in my own little world
Staring up at the blank sky
No emotions, no excitement
All alone

Lost in my own little world
Where no one listens
And no once cares
All alone

Lost in my own little world
Night but no darkness
Morning but no sunshine
All alone

Lost in my own little world
Trying to break free
Of my circle of thoughts
All alone

Lost in my own little world
Can't find the right path
No way out
All alone

Lost in my own little world
I hear a knock on my door
Bringing me something I haven't seen before
Am I alone?

Lost in my own little world
But something new comes to me
And I call it a smile
Not so alone anymore

Nothing really inspired me to write this piece. It was during a free write and all of a sudden the first line popped into my head. Out of nowhere, a poem appeared. That happens a lot to me.
