Deciving Smile
On the outside I’m calm
On the inside I’m raging like a hurricane
Pounding with hate swelling with fear
As you pass me, you’re so unaware of how
Depression is just eating away at me.
The weight of the world is on my shoulders
Weighing me down, the stinging shame
Flaunting my insufficiencies
I’m in denial.
My darkness concealed with the wound too
Deep for anyone to help,
A lie is unfolding
Tears are pouring down my face.
You try to break me
I stand strong instead.
You will never know what’s wrong inside of me
It hides behind a thousand lies
And with a smile on my face
It tells you
“everything’s’ all right”
