Autumn Meanderings

Autumn is my favorite season.
Something to fall for, for sure.
It holds an experience
for each of the senses.
It's sweet, sad beauty
entrances the eyes.
We are given the chance
to view transformation
in action, in all it's glory.
Fall's amazing range
of deep, rich hues
brings warmth to the snap
of a chill in the air.
The trees use this time,
their grand finale for the year,
to prounounce their majesty to the world.
And oh, to gaze
upon Autumn skes.
No gray Winter dulling,
or springtime rains,
or hot summer glare,
can detract from this endless beauty.
This sweet, sad beauty
entrances the eyes.

Autumn is my favorite season.
Something to fall for, for sure.
It holds an experience
for each of the senses.
It's soft murmurings
entrance the ears.
We are given the chance
to hear transformation
in action, in all it's glory.
Fall's amazing range
of dulcet tones
bring warmth to the snap
of a chill in the air.
The ever-mindful wind
brings it's news to the trees
and if we listen we can hear
as the leaves whisper back.
As as warm days die away
the trees are ready to rest
and they send their leaves
away for a time
back to the earth, to the roots
And in mindful silence we can hear
the sigh of grassy life meeting leafy death
These soft murmurings
entrance the ears.

Autumn is my favorite season.
Something to fall for, for sure.
It holds an experience
for each of the senses.
It's subtle flavors
entrance the tongue.
We are given the chance
to taste transformation
in action, in all it's glory.
Fall's amazing range
of tastey sensations
bring warmth to the snap
of a chill in the air.
The strong sweet spice
of perfect pumpkin pie
characterizes the flavors
that mingle on our minds
throught and beyond the Autumn months.
The robust tastings
of the days when we give thanks
for the blessings of life
are looked forward to throughout the year.
These subtle flavors
entrance the tongue.

Autumn is my favorite season.
Something to fall for, for sure.
It holds an experience
for each of the senses.
It's inviting smells
entrance the nose.
We are given the chance
to smell transformation
in action, in all it's glory.
Fall's amazing range
of inticing scents
bring warmth to the snap
of a chill in the air.
Fallen leaves wear the perfume
of earthly death
always with the promise of rebirth.
The smell of Fall is a mix-
of hay and horses,
of food and warm drinks.
You can smell the cooling of the air
and the acorns on the ground.
All the smells of natures nearing rest.
These inviting smells
entrance the nose.

Autumn is my favorite season.
Something to fall for, for sure.
It holds an experience
for each of the senses.
It's comforting touch
entrances the skin.
We are given the chance
to feel transformation
in action, in all it's glory.
Fall's amazing range
of comforting tickles
bring warmth to the snap
of a chill in the air.
When it leaves the trees
the wind next comes to us
to embrace us fully in it's gentle care
and replace the excited heat of summer
with the sleepy cool
of winter months to come.
Fall is full of crackling touches:
the crackling remains of fallen leaves
and the warmth of a crackle in the fire.
This comforting touch
entrances the skin.
