Neon Guitars
the girl in the farthest corner
of the seat, on a bus.
Do you ever wonder of her?
staring out at the city in the fall
sunlight shining on pale dirty sidewalks
and orange leaves.
cold wind bustles through the window
and tosses those messy bangs out of her
eyeliner-smudged eyes
for a moment, she can see the brilliance
of the harsh, vaulty sky above her
but only for so long.
The rebellious style settles back on that child
And the once wide-open eyes
look down to see cuts hidden under the tight, hugging sleeves of her worn, holey neon guitar jacket.
