The Knife In My Back

There is a knife
in the middle of my back.
That sharp painful thing that keeps pounding itself deeper into me.
Suicide is a horrible thing.
Its that awful thing that drops your jaw,
and follows in silence and confusion.
The words how, and why usually come in after.
Well he was my dad.
Who will do it next?
Just when things were at they’re hardest he did it.
So many questions so little answers.
There is a knife in the middle of my back.
What to do?
