Death
I lie here breathless,
seeing all that is here, and all that is no more.
I know everything.
The smell of soil under my nose fill these lungs of mine.
The serpent withers at the sound of my shrill voice.
My little trap, I wish to not reside in.
I am a jealous snake, as I hear the shrill laughter over yonder. The children are breaking away from their prisons to reach the monkey bars.
My soul is sedated, it feels nothing but resent, and I can not sing of freedom.
I think I am in a hell of a sort, encompassed by only cedar.
Fair children, breathe in the sun. See the air. Be the memories, live forever.
