Seasons Come Seasons Go

The days go by every month,
Taunting you when the sun will shine,
Or when the snow will melt.
When the rain will stop,
Just so the flowers can appear.
When will school start?
When will the leaves fall down?
When will the neighbors come to say trick-or-treat?
Day by day
Week by week
Month by month
We ask these questions.
The answer never comes 'till
The leaves fall
The flowers grow
The snow melts
Or the gorgeous sun shines.
In the middle of winter, the cold
Wind whistles in your ear and you hope
For the blistering heat of summer.
In the middle of fall, when
The leaves are crunching everywhere you step,
You hope for spring flowers.
The warm wind blowing in your hair.
The perfect time for a picnic at the park.
Don’t you just wish you could snap your fingers and
Winter would change to summer
Fall would change to spring
Snow would change to sunshine
Crunchy leaves would change to nice green grass
Children playing and laughing
In the snow
In the rain
In the sunshine
Or in the cool breeze and the leaves
They don't care
Season to season they are out playing
They understand that
Seasons come seasons go
