Tragedy Struck
The distance our hearts fell
When those buildings hit the ground
Was further than the drop of those planes
Our screams, louder than any other sound
The silence in the world:
Nobody could figure out the words to say
How to describe the way people felt
About what happened early that September day
Children didn’t understand
That their parents weren’t coming home
They thought they’d see them soon
In confusion, the children were not alone
We couldn’t figure out why
Anyone would be so cruel
To kill our friends and family
What was their fuel?
They couldn’t imagine
The torture in our hearts
September Eleventh
Tore us apart
