The Idea Room
In a place inside my mind
Behind lock and key and bar
Is a room in which resides
Ideas both near and far
Occasionally an idea or two
Will filter through the cracks
I’ll leap upon the select few
And never give them back
I have a theory that, at nighttime
When you’re lying, half asleep
The iron bars that hold and bind
Allow a tiny peep
So a shimmering gem will burst forth
From that shining fabled room
I record it as appropriate course
Then hope more are coming soon
Imagine if I held the key
To unlock that magic door
I would enter with no plans to leave
Into that which would come tumbling forth

“Wednesdays are limbo days. Monday is the beginning of the week, Tuesday is getting used to it, Thursday is looking forward to Friday and Friday is getting ready for the weekend. Wednesdays aren’t really anything in particular. They’re just there.”
