I was born of two countries
Two nations
Together

I belong to both
Both belong to me
They are a part of me

I love my countries

One is the power of the world
It is the Great Land of freedom
It is the strength of the present age

The other is small
Looked down upon
But it is noble

It is mine
And I love it
It hurts me when others scorn

Because I love my countries

Others look at me in disdain
But I am not half-bred, as they say
I am born of two countries, and I love them

I am a part of them
They are a part of me
For I am a child of two nations

I love this! Especially the last stanza--that you are a part of them--is moving and thought-provoking. You defend yourself very well against the label "half-bred," but more than that, you share the beauty and depth that both your countries add to you. Thank you for sharing.

Wish I could write like that! I'm thirteen and nothing I write comes close to this!
