Into The Wood

Strange, how my heart beats
To find its path among the wood;
Captured of its own feats
Now rests in cage and gilded door.

Whispering winds, swaying, singing,
Leading the faint of heart astray;
Dying, only to live yet another day.
Darkening shadow, speaking, sighing,
Laughingly shaking hands with fate
Knowing mischief courage shall not abate
For the fool who dares to venture
Into the wood.
