Sky Surfer
I ride on the surf of the wind currents,
Lost in the womb of the night.
I can't recall when I mounted this cloud,
Cumulus holds me in flight.
I can taste the sweet indigo, soaring
The impenetrable abyss.
The hint of nectar 'mid the stars, sailing
A peace floats in with a kiss.
Up and down, and all around I gaze calm
A burst of gale rushes by.
No sailor of sea birth knows adventure
Like a star child knows the sky.
Silver, blue, purple, and green explode now,
I lift my eyes to the moon.
A shower of blessings—meteors streak,
Colliding in a monsoon.
I can hear the bow of a moonbow hum
Too loud to think of escape.
The joyful tinkle of broken stars fall
Now roaring out the moonscape.
Sky Queen's staff of lightning will shatter clouds,
Her screams to shock an ocean.
“War to begin, no dream shall pass my gates!”
She hurries to mount Dragon.
Streaming behind her flaming head is black,
Paved of burnt hopes her path lays.
Nightmare wields thunder, Fear prized weapon,
Bringing misery to maids.
Her art is turning princes into beasts,
And flowers into briars.
Flawless she is at creeping into thoughts,
And targeting the criers.
She owns a chariot, I have a cloud,
But I am quite powerless?
Weaving a string from my cloaking stratus,
My moonbow now not cordless.
I draw my bow, a colored slice breaks off,
“Thank you!” I snap off a bite.
Tangy juice seeps past my tongue with courage,
Now ready to face the Night.
I pull back the floss, loaded with star shards
I aim for Nightmare's black heart.
Twang my beautiful weapons thrust forward
Her organs are sliced apart.
Off to terrorize another lone girl
In me she has met her death.
If depression wrecks my sky, she'll be back
So I'll keep joy in my breath.
For I ride on the surf of wind currents
Lost in the womb of the night.
I can't recall when I mounted this cloud
Cumulus holds me in flight.
Up and down, and all around I gaze calm
A burst of gale rushes by.
No sailor of sea birth knows adventure
Like a star child knows the sky.
