I was looking into her eyes
Eyes that told me a full story
Told me more than what her words were saying
They showed pain, experience, suffer,
history, tears, smiles, love, care, and struggles
She, was holding in the tears that she will never let out
She, is a true hero
Even though she doesn't know

She has gone through more than an average person would go through
She, has fought many battles that many would have given up on long ago
She resembles strength, power, and bravery
Single mom she was, taking care of more than she could even handle
She was holding up the sky and trying her hardest to not let it fall
She was protecting her loved ones, supporting the ones she cares for
She, holds everything in and would rather endure all the pain and not have others worry
She took in everything herself and fought many years of wars

She, has lost and gained a lot
She is still living
Still learning
Still keeping that smile on her face
And not let anyone worry
She, raised me up and taught me lessons
She treated me like her own daughter
I treat her like no other

Now that I am older
No longer the little girl
I will help her, protect her, care for her, and love her
She took the role of saving many
I may not be able to be as strong and brave as her
But I will try my best
It's time for her to feel how I felt all these years
The best way, is by doing the same
