(Hurricane) Sandy
Motionless bodies lying on the sand,
A starving child reaching for her mother’s hand,
Families left without roofs to cover their heads,
Parents wondering where, for their children, they can find beds.
Tears streaming down a neighbor’s face,
Watching the loss of all that cannot be replaced.
Millions living in the darkness,
The innocent with little left being looted by the heartless.
Praying for all who could use a caring hand,
Those who’ve endured more than we can begin to understand.
