Bare Money
Do you remember those days?
When we would lie down on that fresh, wet grass
Sitting underneath the silent sky full of haze
And just like that our day would pass…
Those days still amaze me
When we would have such a great time
Without even spending a penny
Well of course, now you classify those days as grime
According to you, everything can be bought
After your success, money is the way the world has always revolved
Funny how you used to love those days, I guess you just forgot
Surprising how quickly you have evolved
Now you have a thousand excuses not to stay
I can understand why it’s hard to visit
It’s fine that your trip is on a delay
Well you know what, now I quit
Because, I know the reason behind your excuse
Sophisticated businessman with a filthy maid
Well that one is completely abstruse
I embarrass you, which is why you’re afraid
You know what, I’m worth much more
At least a few dollars don’t change me
I won’t let myself be ignored
Because I mean much more than bare money
