I am from
I am from amethyst,
and from parents' all night partying.
I am from walks to the park,
and evening rain dripping from the tire swing.
I am from nutter butters, Twinkies, and loft house cookies. The ones my father ate on his way home from work.
I am from periwinkles in the front yard,
And the neighborhood playing Frisbee in the street.
I am from hiding my homework behind the bookshelf,
And musky beer on the ground.
I am from muggy summer days, fireworks shooting up, and sirens though out the city.
I am from pizza every night and gluing my ear to the door to listen to the fight on the other side.
I am from my family,
And without them I wouldn't be who I am.
