The Book of Life
The Book of Life:
As if the word of life is the unknown,
You give me the antidote to glory,
I take baby steps until I’m all grown,
binded by leather, protecting your story,
when life gets too hard I tend to stumble,
memorizing scriptures ‘til my minds whirled,
The King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Our Father,
I come to you when I am most humble,
But You are my guidance in this cruel world.
I pray to you and hope I don’t bother.
A story of a baby who saves mankind,
Genesis, Exodous, Leveticus,
A gifted man who healed the sick and blind,
Adam and Eve to Saul in Damascus,
Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Psalms
A courageous woman, a book of songs,
I sing a tiny hymn and clasp my hands,
A man who gained the world but all the wrongs,
You protect my soul or it will impend.
