We go Back...
We go back
All the way to
Fourteen years ago
May 17, 1997 to be exact
Every year since has brought a world wind of adventures
From not being in the stands
To driving endless miles to watch me
Advance my skills
Sometimes I can be a brat, and
Most of the time I realize that
Some how, some way
You still love me
Only because you have too
Sure I have days that I wish
To not say were related
Although, we look so much alike
I can hardly stand it
Even when you just can’t remember...
It’s hitting the garage door opener,
Using your gas card,
Blaming your glasses,
Meowing like a cat,
Hysterically laughing about Sugarloaf,
Singing away,
Or just plain being mysterious,
You never fail to make me grin
Time and time again
You help me through
The rough days
The tough days
With all the in between
I dance
You sing
I cry
You smile
As the time flies by
One thing has grasped my mind
You are my mom
Forever and ever
Countless reasons why
