A Friend
From seven to seven we sit there
Bored
With little to do except
Feed, water and wash
A couple days and a show and
We talk
Slowly it grows
Then after a heifer placed last in the lineup
It explodes
The hours pass faster now
For I have a friend
A green sticker by each of our names
We’ll see again soon
Just two weeks away
Four days parent free
But before those days are done
Your friendship brings me many more
For that I must thank you for
A good friend you have been
And a good friend you shall always be
