Wonderstruck
Let's climb up this barren tree,
just escape realities,
just a minute, an hour, a day,
let's clear the dirt with things we say.
Whispered words surround the air,
they form the leaves, we stop and stare,
What we create with a phrase or two,
A spoken kiss becomes a bloom.
The night dims down, we slow our breath,
make one last rose before our rest,
close our eyes but not our minds,
Our lives forever intertwined.
