I'd Rather Have a Nightmare

Not a dream or a nightmare
I give you reality.
It is a harsh place to be.
It promises struggles,
like the loss of love.
Here
It will hit you hard
like a speeding train.
It will make you realize
the actualities of life.
I am trying to be strong.
Not a optimist or a pessimist.
I give you reality.
It's presence will always be apparent
bittersweet
as we are
for as long as we are.
Take it
Its wrath can overtake you
if you like.
Determined.
Its scent will cling to you.
Cling to your everything
