In the shade
I stand alone in a field of grey
A row of archers take their aim
Fitting arrows they can see it in my eyes
Resolve fading as the despair begins to rise
Yet it would seem a waste to give in now
Forgetting the reason I once was proud
But the pain that was suffered is rippling
Tearing apart my own soul from me
As a tear slips loose the arrows fly
In their shade I ask myself why
If they bind me to my bluffs
To suffer is it not enough?
