Backwards
I hear the clock tick backwards.
The words you speak turn foreign as your face fades to darkness.
Life replays in my head, twisted and exaggerated.
I enjoy this escape.
Is it sad when dreams are sweeter than real life?
When you live to sleep, not sleep to live?
I eagerly await the night, anticipating the new story I will star in.
I can be anyone, anywhere.
I am carried far away from my troubled heart and distressed mind.
I allow myself to be overtaken and guided into a world of fantasy.
The only problem is that I must always wake up.
