Time to Speak Up
I’m speaking for my Ancestors.
With freedom, happiness, and pride.
I have my civil rights.
Hard working slaves cleaning laundry.
People that wish they could be bricks, having to pick crops.
Working in the cotton yards, trying their hardest not to break a sweat.
These were the quick-moving hands of my ancestors.
Thanks to the Underground Railroad they were set free!
Trying to escape like dogs that are being held back from destroying.
It was time to speak up!
