“To dead Ohio, where I might lay buried,
Had I not run away before my time”

James Wright, ‘At the Executed Murderer’s Grave’

“Men kill for this, or for as much”

Anne Sexton, ‘The Truth the Dead Know’

To a dead Ohio
I’m just waiting for the sun
Makes me close my eyes and say
You’ve got me screaming out for air
Oh, and all I wanted was a hand to hold
And all I got was guilt
Reciprocity’s such a joke

She’s waiting in the parking lot
Arms crossed and standing tall
Never know what she’ll says next
It’s a street fight, not a brawl
Hold your breath count
One two three
You’re hit, you’re out
Play again to get your money’s worth

To a dead Ohio
I’m just waiting for the sun
Makes me close my eyes and say
You’ve got me screaming out for air
Oh, all I wanted was a hand to hold
And all I got was guilt
Reciprocity’s such a joke

Oh, and now all I have is this ink stain
And a sheet of wasted paper
All the lines have blurred together
Run out screaming ‘Can you have enough’

Oh, I bet you’re dying to know who’s heart I’m stopping
And who’s pills I’m popping
And yeah, you’ll never know
Run out screaming ‘Can you have enough’

To a Dead Ohio
I’m just waiting for the sun
And the skylines bleeding out a sunset
Makes me close my eyes and say
You’ve got me screaming out for air
Oh, all I wanted was a hand to hold
And all I got was guilt
Reciprocity’s such a joke

Men kill for this, or for as much.
Yeah, men kill of this
Or for as much.
