What Salvation for My Soul?
Can there be no cuddling for me?
No girl to love so dear?
As devoid as can be,
This is as much reality as fear.
Mocked by beauty,
My emotions are fit to scorn,
Friends break every duty,
‘Till my soul in worn.
None too intimate,
Soon they turn away,
Eyes grow wet,
Who will stay?
My soul is the deepest ocean,
But they sail shallow seas,
Ceasing emotional relation,
I am brought to my knees.
What friend to love?
What love is known?
When push comes to shove,
It seems I am on my own.
