Tragedy
Numbers branded on my arm
I've forgotten the world has color
I've forgotten the world has hope
Imprisoned for Jesus, my Catholic faith
I become desensitized to death
Desensitized to death
You'll be surprised what you can get used to
Dead bodies line the streets
Dead body's stink fills the air
We never can escape
After all, branded people are desensitized to death
Desensitized to death
Families torn apart
Faith is shattered
Faith is what got us here in the first place
We only try to live
So we have to be desensitized to death
Desensitized to death
Try to survive, try to make do
Torture me and torture you
Torture is only a game to them
"How long will they last?" their sick minds ask
They, like us, are desensitized to death
Desensitized to death
In line we wait, trembling
Whose turn is it?
Whose turn to die?
My number is called
And I'm glad that I'm desensitized to death
Desensitized to death
I am alone
Doctors crowd around
Doctors brainwashed and sick minded
They perform experiments on me- horrid experiments
But I'm desensitized to death
Desensitized to death
I'm numb
It's not because I'm all drugged up
It's not because I'm scared
(Well, maybe just a little)
No, it's because I'm desensitized to death
Desensitized to death
I'm awake
I did not die
I did not cry
I feel different but I don't know why
Am I still desensitized to death?
Desensitized to death?
I go back home
If you can call The Box a home
If you can imagine the staring faces
"You survived?" they ask
In this case, they don't need to be desensitized to death
Desensitized to death
I DID NOT DIE.
I WILL LIVE FOR ANOTHER DAY
