Lesson Learned
I put away all the pictures,
Burning them in the fires of hell.
Hide all the memories,
Burying them deep down in the Earth’s core.
I locked up my heart,
Throwing the keys into the ocean.
I erased you from my life,
Never looking back.
I guess I should probably thank you,
For teaching me the truth:
True love does not exist.
It’s a fairy tale adults made up,
And told us throughout our lives.
True love does not exist,
It’s a dream
That no matter how hard you work for it
It will never come true.
I learned the hard way,
But don’t worry
I will never forget this lesson
Will never make the same mistake again.
