What color is Love?
He was black,
She was white,
Everybody in town,
Thought it wasn’t right.
They ignored the whispers,
And every stare,
They knew what people were saying,
They jusdidnt’t care.
She wondered,
What color is love?
Why does race matter?
Does it matter up above?
She prayed for weeks,
No answer came,
Between her and him,
Nothing changed.
Then white power,
Came to play,
It isn’t right,
They would all say.
Did he die for who he loved?
Or was it because of his race?
Was it because it was his time to go?
Was it because everyone thought it was a disgrace?
No one will know,
Not for sure,
But that boy died,
Mostly because he loved a white girl?
