Walk of The Lonesome
i found a boy sitting on a curb
as i walked by I smiled as politely as i could
my mind raced trying to think what I would say
if he smiled back
how i wished he would
i saw a girl yesterday
watched as she attempted a smile
my mind raced- tried to think what to say
and the words were on my lips
hopes to ease her pain
but the moment passed and I, and she, walked away.
