And the Struggle Continues
The youngest of four
But theres still seven more
And the struggle continues...
Cause I been on both sides
Being welcomed into an unknown home
Taking hold of a new identity
Crawling into corners to find my inner serenity
Then there's life
Yes I honor my mother even though the crackpipe might be the only utensil she know how to use
But how do I honor my father when he's a breathing individual I never knew
Yea life's hard and I wish I could change God's mind
So instead I use the pen thru hard times
Writing down apologies today and not forgetting tomorrow
Never let nobody steal my joy but they can borrow it
Cause I know how it feels to be left alone
Remaining silent even though emotions grew strong
And yet you wonder why
I guess cause I struggle to find the words churning inside of me
In desperate need of release
But what I really need is something to fill the empty spaces
In places left by a father who never knew me, friends who always used me, and a ice princess mom who gave me glass kisses
Anybody got a prescription?
I guess not cause it wasn't on the menu
And the struggle constantly continues...
