The Forest within My Life
Life is a forest with tall trees
That reaches high above the ground,
Whose leaves intertwine with one another,
Making a place of protection and shelter.
The sun peeks through the trees
Bringing life to all things that live.
There are many plants and animals
In every shape, size and color each growing
At their own pace.
Day after day their eagerness grow
To find a way to catch a glimpse
Of the outside world,
But instead they only see a maze of
Confusion and wonder.
Then there are paths that lay deep in the forest,
Which shows the way to the place of the unknown.
Where it should lead,
I do not know, but where I go
I will always know
I have a home.
