The sun beats down on
The sun beats down on
my face, slowly turning it red,
but no discomfort registers.
We are here to play,
to work, and to win.
As the ball hits the catchers
glove for the last time, I turn to look at my teammates and a smile
spreads across each of our sweaty, sun burnt faces.
Not only did we win against the other
team, We won against ourselves
As We played under the hot Texas Sun.
We, as a team, perservered.
