Tree Bridge
I'm walking on a tree bridge
trying to keep my balance
hoping that the wild river down below
doesn't swallow my soul.
the gold in the sky
is shining bright in my eyes
causing my pupils to tear
but I won't cry here.
I'm trying to walk
with my posture straight up
and my eyes on the land
across the one from this.
Maybe I'll get there
or maybe the river will give me its home
instead.
There are no railings
no fences, no magic shoes that would
make this easier.
The gold doesn't last long
and now the silver grows strong.
I'm still walking through,
under the blue in the ever changing sky.
