Mama, Where did the Rain come From?

“Mama, where does the rain come from-
Why is it falling
From the sky?”
There is a silence
And the soft ruffling
Of pages
The mother looks to her child
“The rain comes from your dreams
So, child, don’t cry
Sit- and laugh.” (Don’t let your innocence die)
“Mama, where do dreams come from?”
A smile, hidden
A tap on the head
“Child, they grow in here
They grow in here, to make the music flow.”
(Don’t let your dreams fade)
