Morning Still
In the stillness of the morning,
I see beauty all around.
There is no tyrant scorning,
When dew covers ground.
The avian song is gay.
The trees are lit with sky.
How mellow we would stay,
If morning lasted from birth to the day we die.
The canvas-sky pillows the joyful morn.
Life is tender and mild.
My children should be born,
In years this undefiled.
Stay, sweet day,
As lovely as this now.
Be forever youthful, stay.
Seek out how.
If love is peace,
Or if love is mad,
As soft as fleece,
There can be no bad.
Hours soar past.
Aging is a bitter pill.
Be youthful to the last.
Remain morning still.
