First Love
When I first fell in love, I was only thirteen
With a pretty girl who was never mean.
A friendship it began, hard for me to see
What good friends we are, like a lock and key.
I saw her in the halls for a sudden hello,
But never understood the feelings hidden below.
I knew she was different from me, in a cool way
We live in Somers down by the bay.
We use to talk on the phone, with music in our ears
Our favorite country song that brought us to tears.
Where still good friends I ‘ll say
And I hope that’s how it will stay.
Now, I’m almost seventeen -
Looking back, I wouldn’t change what I’ve seen.
