I come from mom's warm touch.
I come from dad's cold shoulder.
I come from the teasing and fighting from my big sister.
I come from people failing me and letting me down.
I come from all the lies from guys.
I come from all the mean things people have said.
I come from listening to my family and pushing away the pain.
I come from holding my head high and being proud, like mom said.
I come from never letting people push me under.
I come from being my own person and living my own way.
