ALONE
Walking is always the most horrible thing in the world
Here I am and there you are smiling, waiting
Walking alone, I do not feel the warmth or the cold
No matter what I do, no matter what I say you will always be waiting
Ah, it was in the middle of February
And yet it stills seems like the month shall never pass me by
For I took you on my sled and said: “Be careful, okay?”
And then you went, from my arms into that little lie
Still walking, forever walking
I think of how I could never have her
The one who is always laughing and smiling
The one who makes me think: “am I some kind of monster?”
You fell away from me
You went down the sledding hill
And enter the arms of he
He the one who always wants me to go to the mill
Friends of new and friends of old
They come and they go
You had hundreds to call upon
I only had one
I had…you.
The hill, the hill, that wretched hill
How I watched you go and go
Sailing away, far away into the land, where you never steal
Down, down, you went. Faster and faster you’ll go
Standing here, on the dock
I waited
Standing here, looking at my clock
I waited
Heavens’ golden angels praised you
Heaven’s angels scorned me
For not going down to
The sledding hill is so lonely to me
Standing at the edge of the dock
Always waiting for you
Watching the horizon, watching the clock
Always, waiting for you
No lights shine through the night
No warmth comfort’s me today
Rain falls in flight
Coldness stings my skin, today
Walking is always the most horrible thing in the world
With every step I take
I look up to heaven, where you now grow old
You, my friend of the world
The only one…I had.
