Flashback
Remembering when you were daddy’s little girl,
Always crying when he left for work,
Jumping into his arms when he got home.
Going to him when mom says no,
Wanting to go everywhere he went,
Helping him fix cars,
Letting him talk to you about useless things.
Making him the best card on fathers day,
Breakfast in bed,
Going fishing every Sunday with him,
But made him take the hook out.
Remember blaming him for why the cookies were all gone.
Watching funny movies,
Laughing at things just because he is.
Snuggling with him on the couch after lunch.
The love you feel with him because you’re young,
Cute,
Funny,
And he loves taking care of you.
But as you get older the love seems to fade,
You can’t talk to him about anything,
And he expects everything out of you,
Your in more fights with him than you thought was possible.
He doesn’t trust you,
Threatens to take everything away,
Your possessions,
Loss of freedom,
Sitting in your own room,
Alone.
You can’t help but cry,
Because you notice that you’re not close to him anymore,
And all his compassion is being put into your sibling.
You see yourself in her,
Both of them.
Just how you and him use to be.
Jealousy?
