The Cha-Cha Slide
From what seems like thousands of legs
Swerve to the right and left
Jumping, knees bending
The music’s loud, it makes me deaf
Silk dresses and neon lights
My mind wanders without thinking
My body moves to the pulse of the music
Please don’t pause it, I can’t stop dancing
The thumping of the speakers,
It’s kind of addicting
The tilting of the floor,
It’s kind of interesting
Unwind your body, clap your hands
Criss-cross real smooth
You must jump, not stand
The rule is to shake the stress away
A chance to break free
I look at you, you look at me
We break it down relentlessly
I put my hands on my knees
And dance low to the ground
Next thing you know,
I’m doing the Charlie Brown
