Vampire
And in my dying grasp, I firmly clutched a flower.
Its petals crushed in my grip.
As I let out my last breath from cold lips
I let go of the flower…
The pale petals dropped towards the earth in spiraling formation.
As the night went on, frost settled across them like a freezing blanket
And there they stayed, unwanted and forgotten
But as the mourning was upon the world,
The weak glitter of sunshine began to melt the hard exterior, revealing its former self.
As the sun’s rays began to strengthen, the petal burned, shriveled up and died.
No longer was it beautiful, as all things end.
