The House is Captivating
The house is captivating, yet so terrifying.
Like a labyrinth, confusing, endless.
the entrance opens, the house is vulnerable.
a web kisses my cheek, i brush it off.
it now sits in solitude.
mildew and dust choke me.
i get used to it.
its desolate, dark, dank.
chills carve me.
the foyer: forbidding, yet how grand.
intimidated, i must tread forward,
standing here won't move me farther.
i turn to a room dimly lit by candles.
its warm. a rush of calm shows me i'm safe.
i can't settle here
